Management Team
Barcs - Chief Executive Officer
As the CEO, I decide the focus of the company, and what we are going to aim for. I then hand over to the rest of the team, to decide how they are going to make it happen!
My focus at the moment is on improving how we work together as a team and on making AA the greatest place to work!
In my spare time I love table tennis, jogging, boxing and a spot of weights - preferably altogether if I can.
My favourite things in the world are seeing others do well and succeed, reading and writing about personal development, and making great products and customer experiences that put a smile on people’s faces!
Tony - Chief Operations Officer
On a day to day basis I run the company, managing each department from Marketing to Customer Service. I’m an avid business entrepreneur and my business hero is Jack Welch. I really enjoying keeping up with business and the next strategic success I can incorporate into working practice.
In my spare time I have loads of hobbies including: paintball, running, surfing, spear fishing, mountain biking and table tennis.
Finance/HR
Karina - Finance Manager, HR Manager and Company Secretary
I’m the longest serving member of Academic Answers! As Finance Manager, I provide financial advice and support to the team to enable them to make sound business decisions. I also manage HR which means I’m responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organisation.
I enjoy going to the gym where I run 10 kilometres, four times a week. I also love surfing – coming from Cornwall, I was brought up by the ocean so anything to do with the beach I love!
My best possession in the world is my little dog Neo, who I absolutely adore and love taking for walks in the country.
Marketing Team
Jen - Marketing Manager
As Marketing Manager, my interest is value! My job requires me to monitor and advise on the whole of the value line: identifying, creating, communicating, delivering, supporting, monitoring and sustaining value for our internal and external customers.
Out of work, the most important thing in the world to me is my family – my three clever beautiful daughters are my life. I also love snowboarding, travel, reading and concerts. I have a great interest in investments and business.
Ryan - Marketing Executive
I’m responsible for creating and communicating value in relation to our plagiarism scanner Viper and its website, ScanMyEssay.com. I also look after marketing in relation to some of our other top websites, including Degree-Essays.com. My special focus is in creating and sustaining strategic partnerships with student focused organisations.
In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, football every Sunday, snowboarding whenever I get the chance, badminton, golf and going to the gym. I also like to go for nights out, dinners and going to the movies. I also like to travel and would love to travel to New Zealand. I love being with my friends and family.
Nick - Marketing Executive
My role is communicating the value of our exclusive Oxbridge service to our valued customers. I also look after Academic Knowledge, our base for our talented experts.
In my spare time I head to the gym for 20 minutes on the running machine to relieve the stresses of the day. Going to the cinema is also a favourite hobby of mine, seeing a variety of films from horror, science fiction and comedy.
I love my two cats, who are the most affectionate and lovable pets in the world ever. I have a boy called Rome and a girl called Paris.
Ken - Marketing Executive
Joining the marketing team has been a complete change of career for me, but I’m loving every minute. I’m passionate about delivering more to our customers, and I’ve therefore really enjoyed working on the development of EssayBay, our marketplace that connects experts and buyers directly.
My favourite pastime is watching movies. I love exploring new countries and spending time with my family at the weekends. I’m a huge football fan and support many different teams.
Simon - Marketing Executive
New to the role here at Academic Answers I have just taken on the responsibility of promoting the value our of specialist Law Teacher website to our customers.
I love playing sport and I am a keen footballer having played for Nottingham Forest and Chesterfield FC and I still play in the Nottinghamshire Senior League for Gedling Southbank FC which keeps me fit and healthy (when not injured). I also enjoy playing table tennis and golf, although usually out of the football season. When not playing sport or working, I also like cooking, socialising, shopping and going camping with my Wife.
Ami - Office Coordinator/SST Manager
As Office Coordinator, I maintain an efficient support service to the whole team, ensuring that adequate resources are available to enable tasks to be completed on time and to prescribed standards. I help to build and maintain strong relationships between colleagues by coordinating team-building social events. As SST Manager, I coordinate a team of 5 support staff in the production of material for our websites. I’ve also taken an interest in marketing and I’m assisting with as many marketing tasks as I can get my hands on!
I like going to gigs, listening to music, socialising with friends, and shopping for shoes and dresses. There’s rarely a weekend spent in at home! I also enjoy watching David Attenborough.
Sean – Graphics Designer
My role involves using my extensive experience to design and create artwork for the Company's websites, which may include anything from banner creation, sales graphics, header graphics, or complete website redesigns. I’m also involved in producing graphics for print media such as disk covers, disks, flyers, cards, posters etc.
In my spare time I love spending quality time with my friends and family. At the weekend I can often be found following the mighty Nottingham Forest or watching Formula One, to the dismay of Lucy (my wife). I'm also a keen amateur photographer and happily snap away while walking in the Peak District.
Customer Service Team
Edd - Customer Services Manager
I’m responsible for managing a dynamic customer services team, to ensure we deliver outstanding customer service to every customer. My role involves training, monitoring and motivating my team, and ensuring they balance the goal of attaining financial targets with the delivery of great customer care.
My hobbies include playing football; my passion is watching football and listening to music. I really enjoy playing with my children, and spending time with my fiancé. My three gorgeous daughters are the best thing that’s happened to me - they keep me smiling.
Olivia - Customer Service Representative
My role in the customer services department is mainly to provide quality email support to our customers. I have worked in customer services for 6 years, and helped thousands of customers via email. As I have a diverse range of skills, I also frequently assist other departments - just lately, I have been working with the marketing team, and really enjoying the marketing projects I have been a part of.
When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my children and socialising with my friends. I’m very easy-going and always laughing! I also love social networking, and living in the virtual world.
My favourite thing in the whole world is wine (rose or white), chocolate and major retail therapy!!!!!
Dan D - Customer Service Representative
I’m the fun loving, and friendly voice of Academic Answers. My full time role is to help our customers over the phone. This is what I love most about my job as I enjoy talking to new people.
When I am not at work I love spending time with my son and my beautiful girlfriend. I always have a laugh when I am out with my mates; we like going to festivals, gigs, drinking and watching my beloved Nottingham Forest F.C.
Martin - Customer Service Representative
I enjoy a diverse range of work with the customer service team – helping customers over the phone, dealing with website enquiries, processing orders and looking at incomplete orders.
In my free time I like to play snooker and golf, but my main hobby and passion is playing the piano. I have played in a blues band, and I enjoy teaching others.
Danny - Customer Service Representative
As part of the Customer Services team I enjoy helping the process from order to delivery run as smoothly as possible, ensuring that the customer is informed every step of the way.
Away from work I enjoy playing Table Tennis. Recently I have enjoyed spending more time coaching younger players, passing on the experience I have gained to others. When I’m not playing Table Tennis I enjoy reading and running.
Darrell - Customer Service Representative
I enjoy the variety my customer service role brings from start to finish, I especially enjoy helping customers with their queries.
In my spare time I enjoy looking after my 3 sons and also playing for my local football side but my main passions are MJ and learning to play my electric guitar.

Jilly - Quality Assurance Officer
I have worked at Academic Answers for 5 months, and finally found a job I enjoy, as I get to read essays from a variety of academic disciplines, with a multitude of topics.
In my spare time I read a lot, and enjoy sampling real ale - ‘Elsie Mo’ is my favourite to date. I really enjoy listening to music, and going to gigs. I would have to say that Ska and Northern Soul, are my favourite genre.
I love new ideas, travelling and meeting thoughtful, interesting people.
Danielle - Quality Assurance Officer
My role in the Quality department is to ensure all orders are of the highest quality and meet the standards ordered. I also deal with customer satisfaction queries to help ensure clients leave the company happy. I find my job really rewarding, knowing that I'm helping client's achieve top quality grades. I also enjoy interacting with the clients and helping ensure they're always satisfied.
In my spare time, I enjoy all the things girls do - socialising with my friends and boyfriend, shopping, cinema-going, reading and a good old gossip over a chick flick and a bottle of wine. I also enjoy skiing, travelling and going to live shows; I love all varieties - gigs (I'm still devastated I won't be making good use of my Michael Jackson tickets!), festivals (particularly V-fest), comedians (I'm partial to a bit of Jimmy Carr) and West-End shows (Dirty Dancing is fabulous!).
Josh - Customer Satisfaction Representative
My role in the Customer Satisfaction team is to deal with after-sales customer queries via email. I really enjoy helping people and where a customer isn’t totally satisfied, I get a great sense of satisfaction from finding a solution that leaves them 110% happy.
When I am not in work I like to spend time walking my Great Dane, Trevor. I enjoy spending time in the Peak District at weekends, and going out for long walks with Trevor.
Sarah - Customer Satisfaction Representative
I’m one of the after sales team, and when you look at the order process from start to finish, this is usually a great place to be working at as I get to hear from satisfied customers all day long. Occasionally we hear from someone who is not completely happy but I see this as an opportunity to make a really good impression – that’s my goal.
When I am not at work I love to spend time with my husband and family. My hobbies include reading, going to the theatre and socialising with my friends. I love shopping, particularly for new clothes.
Jonathan - Customer Satisfaction Representative
I’m the first point of contact for our experts at Academic Answers when things aren’t going quite to plan. It’s a demanding role as we see our experts as customers too, so I have to balance their interests with those of the students. It’s also rewarding as I get to speak to the most diverse talent pool on the planet – and some of our experts have become good friends through the years.
In my spare time I really enjoy going out at weekends with my mates and visiting London regularly to see my family. When I’m not out on the town, I’m either in the gym or heading to a football match.
Research & Development Team
Liam - Research & Development Manager
My role is to oversee the production of great products and services for our customers. Having the largest team in the Company, this is a challenging role! The reward for me is seeing our work being released, used and loved by people both internally and externally.
In my free time I enjoy playing American Football, reading, going to gigs to see my favourite bands and anything slightly random!
Simon G - Programmer
I help create engaging applications that inspire users and meet our business goals. I am also a passionate advocate of Unix-like servers for internet systems.
Out of work, I like enjoying the odd mission on the mountain bike, reading politics/spy/thriller books, playing poker and the odd round of Call of Duty 4.
George - Web Developer
My role is to develop code and applications for the web using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and on the server-side, languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, .NET used to deliver content and scripts to the client.
I use my spare time taking part in a number of sports and activities like biking, swimming, jogging, playing basketball and photography. I really enjoy travelling and seeing new places - and I am a keen photographer.
Steve - Code Monkey
As a PHP Web Developer/Programmer I use my technical and creative expertise and experience to deliver engaging solutions. I work on standalone solutions, as well as producing creative code that complements the efforts of the existing development team.
Out of work, I like nothing more than jetting off to ‘la belle France’ and improving my French. In my spare time I pretend to play the guitar and my favourite past time is browsing in bookshops. Nothing is more important to me than my family.
Dan H - PHP Developer
My role as PHP developer is to develop and enhance code and new applications within the Department’s framework, and to provide support and advice to other developers within the team.
My favourite hobby in the world is flying and I have a passion for aviation and aircraft. On the weekend you can usually see me down the local airfield getting ready to take flight once again over the East Midlands…
Paul - .Net Consultant
My role is to develop our Viper software, the free plagiarism scanner we offer to students. My goal is to improve stability, reliability and speed, and to ensure that Viper is the only choice for students who want to ensure their work is plagiarism free.
I like going to the theatre and comedy gigs. Big fan of music (heavy metal, industrial/electro, Japanese rock, psy-trance... The more obscure the better!) - enjoy playing the guitar and experimenting with creating my own music. I also enjoy socialising with my friends while drinking Belgian fruit beer.
Chris H - R & D Programmer
As an R & D Programmer, my job sees me developing new web-based applications for our customers. I make use of PHP, Javascript, CSS, HTML, C, C++, Java and other languages. I also bring a bit of Linux knowledge to the team.
In my spare time I like to indulge my love of music; particularly metal and other alternative genres. You can often find me on one of my long walks, contemplating all sorts of nonsense. I also enjoy a nice cold pint after a long day's coding.
Tim - R & D Programmer
I love working in the R & D department at AA, as I really enjoy software development and learning new technologies.
I'm also a qualified pilot so in my spare time I enjoy flying around the UK. My dream flight is to fly coast to coast across the USA. I also really enjoy travelling around the world. So far I've travelled the Far East and Central Asia, which was really exciting. Next on the list is South America. I think it will be really interesting and also a good opportunity to practise my Spanish!
Oliver - R & D Programmer
A brief bit of history: although my name is Oliver, because there were 5 Olivers in my year at school, I referred to myself as Ozzy, which has stuck ever since, because the Zs make it cool. A later addition was the D to the end to make OzzyD...
My job is a Researcher and Developer, not explicitly a programmer, that's just one aspect. I say this because the job takes me into research and development about myself, others around me, the way I interact with the world, and so forth. I am a keen music fan and musician, playing the keyboard (You Tube Channel Page if you're interested :D I might redo it at some point ^.^), and also achieving Grade 5 music theory and Grade 7 singing. In my spare time, I enjoy writing songs, writing websites, when I'm not messing around/inside/the computer! I also do some artwork, drawing; digitally, a little CGI, but mostly with a pen and pencil. w.r.t favourite subject, got to be the sciences, especially Physics, and maths. I love taking the world around me apart and putting it together again as a collection of numbers to be analysed! Well, I suppose that's it. Apart from that, I'm fairly average :)
Matt - R & D Programmer
As a programmer in Research & Development, I'm responsible for coming up with new ideas, improvements and additions to our current and future products at Academic Answers. As part of a dedicated, like-minded team, we aim to produce first class products that set the Company ahead of the competition.
As well as being a programmer, I am also a musician. I love performing with different bands, writing songs and having the opportunity to travel the world doing it. I spend quite a lot of my spare time creating projects centered around music and technology - the two things I enjoy the most :-)
Ashley - PHP Web Developer
My role as the department junior is to support the development of AA's large portfolio of online software and solutions for our customers as well as working on internal tools the help better our service.
I enjoy being outdoors and like hiking, climbing and generally staying active. I also enjoy swimming and going running regularly. My absolute favourite thing though seems to be climbing high mountains and I harbour a dream of climbing the seven summits! On a more relaxing note, I enjoy playing the piano, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Communications Team
Chris - Communications Team Manager
I coordinate our SEO/Communications team and our primary responsibility is to communicate the value that we offer to our customers. This means getting our message out to the right people at the right time. Although we’ve got demanding targets to meet, we have a lot of fun achieving them – my team is a pool of creative talent!
In my spare time I play football, run, and spend quality time with my wife and son. I really enjoy learning all about web design and web creation techniques.
Carly - Deputy Manager of the Communications Team
As Deputy Manager, I provide support and advice to the team manager and to my colleagues. My role requires me to keep up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in communications, and to ensure the team are using these to full effect. I’m also in charge of developing and promoting EssayBay, our marketplace that puts experts and customers directly in touch.
In my spare time I swot up on eMarketing and SEO blogs. I enjoy photography and I'm currently teaching myself how to shoot better pictures. I enjoy visiting my Mum, our horse and dogs in the countryside, but when I'm not doing that I can be found socialising with my friends or relaxing with a glass of red.
My favourite item in the world? It’s a toss up between my Apple Macbook Pro and my 2 year old Miniature Schnauzer, Archie.
Elaine - Communications Expert
I manage Degree-Essays.com, a site that offers affordable, good quality work to students. This year the site has seen a 538% increase on traffic compared to the same period last year, and a phenomenal 409% increase in conversions.
I’m a complete Janeite, love everything to do with Jane Austin and really enjoy my music, which ranges from classical, Abba to Elvis!!
John - Communications Expert
I’m a new member of the team, and so I’ve only just started work on Law Essays UK. I’ve already introduced some major changes, completely restructuring the site and introducing breadcrumb navigation for increased usability.
Out of work, my favourite past time is heading to the gym four times a week. On a weekend I like travelling the UK to hunt for the best clubs in the country. I love going to Creamfields and to a lot of djing at a few events. I enjoy watching Formula 1 and listening to electro house music.
Ray - Communications Expert
I'm the newest member of the team and have taken ownership of Law Teacher. In the short time I've been here, I've been working on improving the navigation on the site, making sure you can find the pages in Google (other search engines are available), as well as structuring the content and putting everything in the right place so that you can find it!
In my spare time I love to get behind a camcorder and film various events from weddings to family parties. I'm also learning how to make special effects but I've yet to find a way to implement Iron Man's heads-up-display on one of my videos!
As well as filming, I enjoy playing squash, badminton and going to the gym. I also spend around 30 minutes a day walking around talking to myself. It's not as bizarre as it sounds as I'm trying to learn the Thai language for my holiday in November. So, if you see someone walking around at 7:15am with his headphones on talking to himself, it's probably me!

Neo
Neo the Chihuahua is a new addition to our workplace. He is only 8 months old, so is a small bundle of mischief at the moment. He brings a smile to all our employees, and when he is not at our offices he loves going for walks and meeting other dogs, and running around in the garden playing with his toys.
