Free Legal Advice

Accident Line
Have you been involved in an accident or suffered personal injury that was caused by someone or something else?  The Law Society will arrange a free half-hour legal consultation with a local solicitor specialising in injury claims.

The Citizens Advice Bureau gives basic advice and information on your rights.   It gives you a broad outline of where you stand and what you can do.  Topics covered: benefits, civil rights, communications, consumer affairs, education, employment, family matters, health, housing, immigration, legal system, tax, travel.

Complete an online form and 'Law on the Web' will either try to give you some guidance themselves, or ask one of their panel of solicitors throughout England & Wales to get back to you, within two working days, by e-mail.


Can I Claim?
This service provides assistance to victims of accidents and medical negligence.  The aim is to offer advice on rights to compensation for injuries, and guidance on how to go about making a claim.  It has set up a panel of specialist personal injury solicitors, who offer "no win, no fee" advice and assess online claims at no charge.

Community Legal Service Direct
The Government's new advice service.  Find out who to see and where to go for advice, search for legal information and advice, and find out more about the Community Legal Service.

Legal information services.  FactSheets and Q&As on: accident claims, adoption, case examples, children, consumer, employment, injunctions, legal aid, private housing, public housing, relationships and the small claims court.

Users select areas of law or problem types, respond to online questions and are then sent legal information sheets on relevant law, along with guidance on where to find appropriate specialist solicitors.

A free service for families and individuals with Debt Problems. Confidential and independent counselling to help you achieve realistic solutions to your debt problems, avoid bankruptcy and learn to handle money.
